Microsoft is now preventing add-ins from "pinning" task panes to Excel. Previously, Stock Connector was "pinned", meaning that it always appears and automatically starts updating prices when you open the file. However, Microsoft recently made a change that is requiring some customers to click Launch Stock Connector on the Home tab in Excel every time they want to use it. This is a tool that can force Stock Connector to always be pinned in a file.
Note that instead of modifying the file you choose, this tool creates a copy which you can download via your browser. If you click the x in the top right corner of Stock Connector, that action will unpin Stock Connector, even after you use this tool.
Although it's in a web browser, this tool does not transmit the contents of your .xlsx file on the internet. It simply makes a local pinned copy of the file on your computer.
